Old North Library
Located in the Old North district of Columbus, Ohio, The Old North Library sits on the edge of a heavily sloped ravine. Taking advantage of this condition, the form of the building follows the site as a slip in the articulation of boxes leads into the ravine below. A study in different types of materiality allowed for the building to take on more character by combining various bricks, concrete, and wood. The main goal of the project was to create many different areas for the users to read, study, and interact. Accomplishing this, Old North Library holds program inside and outside that vary from loud to quite spaces.
